Anxiety can be treated in two main ways. The first is the traditional prescription medicine you get from your doctor. And the other are the natural supplements you can find in any herbal shop. There are a lot of producers who claim to have the best natural anti anxiety treatment based on herbs. And while the effectiveness of these supplements can be really high for some people suffering from anxiety disorders, you have to understand that these herbal treatments are not approved by the officials. In fact, the majority of natural anxiety solutions you see on the market these days even don’t have any medical or clinical trials to prove their effectiveness. Also make sure to read about the ingredients of the supplement you want to try using. In most cases, these supplements are based around the same herbs, mixing them in different proportions. The most common herbs found in the majority of natural anti anxiety solutions are Valerian and Passion Flower. Both these herbs are known to help relieve the symptoms of anxiety and are found in numerous traditional remedies in cultures all around the world. Thankfully, there are a lot of clinical studies on the actual effectiveness of these herbs, and all doctors agree that both Valerian and Passion Flower can be effective for relieving mild to moderate forms of anxiety. Taking 50 to 500 milligrams of Valerian per day can help overcome some symptoms of anxiety and be a good addition to conventional treatment. Passion Flower extract can be also beneficial, if taken in safe doses (couple of hundred milligrams per day), and can also help relax and fight stress after a hard day’s work. Some people also state that Green Tea is a good way to prevent and treat anxiety in a natural fashion. Green Tea contains L-theanine, a natural compound that is known to have anti-anxiety properties. However, in order for it to be really beneficial in relieving anxiety, the daily dose should be between 100 and 300 milligrams. Many herbal supplements claim to carry L-theanine as the main active ingredient. Still, the actual amount of this substance found in most supplements claiming to contain it is too low in order to state that these solutions are really effective in treating anxiety. Some specialists state that the herb St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is also quite beneficial for relieving the symptoms of anxiety and depression while not delivering the negative side effects of prescription medications. However, in order for the treatment to be really effective, a herbal remedy based on St. John’s Wort has to carry a high concentration of its active ingredient, hyperforin. This substance is quite similar to SSRI anti anxiety treatments, are known to regulate the levels of norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine in the brain. Whatever herbal solution you choose to try, it still won’t be able to compare with prescription drugs like Valium. Moreover, only a professional doctor can choose the right treatment option for you and decide whether you need a prescription medication like Valium or a simple Valerian supplement. Don’t try to heal yourself without professional medical help, because you can make things even worse. Leave it to people who really know what’s best for you.

When it comes to losing weight, most people just think about losing it fast, and getting out of this problem once and for good. But if you are not on the right plan, you will not be successful. So how do you choose a plan when you see fad diets and miracles around every other corner? A lot of people shy away from weight loss programs because they seem to think they will end up depriving themselves of something they love, all of their favorite foods. Yes it is true that you have to change your eating habits ! and of course increase your activity level, but it doesn’t mean that you have to suffer, either. Lower calories in with more calories going out is how you are going to lose weight fast, but that doesn’t mean deprivation. You just need to make some changes that are easy to keep and that works best for you. The first thing you want to start tweaking will be your calorie intake, but that doesn’t mean you have to go on a diet. Look at your average daily intake, and what you are taking on a daily basis that well, you may not need to take. If you can cut out one of your cups of coffee or a latte every day, you will have just saved yourself anywhere from 2-500 calories a day. If you are taking a latte every day of the week, cutting out that one latte will be enough for you to lose one pound. And look, you were able to go on living your own normal life, happy as ever. Think about the one thing that you can change today that may see results for you as early as next week. Your next step will be to do just that, take a next step. You will have to find a way to incorporate just a little bit of activity into your lifestyle. It may mean taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work, or parking a little farther away in one place you find yourself driving to every day. Whatever it is, you want to start small, and wait a week to notice the difference. Pick something that you know you can do every day, even if it is just for a few minutes, and make sure you do it. If it is something that you know you are going to do anywhere, like walk from A to B to get to work, all the better. The key with every weight loss program is to keep yourself motivated, and that means rewarding yourself after setting goals that you can achieve. And keep going. Sometimes you may come across a bump or plateau where you will need a little extra push, and there are resources that are available that can get you through those bumps. If you need that little extra push to jump start your weight loss program, medication like phentermine has proven to be very effective in helping those that have a problem sticking to diets. Cutting calories and restricting diets can create stress in itself, but Phentermine will give you that little extra you need to stay on track, without depriving yourself either.

International organizations and governments are now more or less agreed we have an epidemic of obesity so, for the research community, the big question is which diet to recommend. Note the “recommend”. There’s no willingness in any government to try forcing a change in what we eat. The best first step is to recommend the most effective diet based on the best available evidence. There are a number to choose from under the general headings of low-carb, high-protein, high-fat diets. The problem with much of the current evidence is the small number of people enrolled in short-term trials. To be able to make general statements, there should be a statistically significant number of participants and the trials should last a reasonable period of time for the full effects to be measured. With dieting there’s also the problem that up to half the participants drop out of most trials. Just published is a new trial that lasted for two years. Called DIRECT (Dietary Intervention Randomized Controlled Test), it compared a Mediterranean, calorie-restricted diet based on the Harvard Medical School guide to healthy eating; a low-fat, calorie-restricted diet based on the American Heart Association’s guidelines; and a low-carb, non-restricted-calorie diet based on Atkins. The participants were aged between 40 and 65 and had a BMI of at least 27, or an existing diagnosis of diabetes or heart disease. The average was people with a BMI of 31 with 86% men. Over two years, 92% stayed with the low-fat diet, 85% with the Mediterranean diet, and 78% with the low-carb diet. Weight was lost consistently in the first six months, with the new weight then stabilizing. Those in the low-fat group lost the least weight with the loss by the Mediterranean and low-carb groups broadly similar with participants dropping two BMI levels. Everyone lost about 2 inches in waist circumference. But the Mediterranean and low-carb diets showed good reductions in blood pressure and improvements in metabolic effects making them the preferred approaches, i.e. there were real, measurable health benefits and not just weight loss. The recommendation is therefore for doctors or nutritionists to discuss dieting preferences with you, aiming to agree a strategy suited to your tastes. In selecting the diet, it may be that an Atkins approach is best for those who find it difficult to restrict their calorie intake. No one should approach this decision with closed minds. It’s a case of starting with one program and then varying it to find the combination of foods you find easiest to accept for the long-term where the greatest health benefits are earned. Acomplia is a useful addition to the program. In clinical trials, it also performed well, helping participants lose an average 10% of their body weight. With the right diet, a little additional exercise, and Acomplia in support, there’s no reason why you should not break the two-year barrier and go on to an increasingly healthy future life. All it needs is your own willpower and the support of your family and friends.

Are you willing to move beyond talking about it and implement real results for you and your life? Have you ever wondered what you could be? Have you ever pictured in your mind what having your best life would look like? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to become or create the success or vision you imagine in your mind? Have you ever wished you would feel more joy, abundance, love and happiness in your daily life? Have you ever been willing to look at why the life you want and what you have in this moment don’t match?

Learning to examine what we have created and how to create what we do what is the science of results oriented thinking. The science of results oriented thinking is not new however, millions of people have become aware of its over all influence in the creation of their lives.

The science of results oriented thinking is the understanding that everything showing up in your life right now is there because you created it with your thoughts, feelings and actions. This science looks at how the thoughts you are thinking can impair your abilities or empower your abilities.

The premise of this science is the understanding that you are not your thoughts nor the feelings that come from that thought. Instead you learn that thoughts are tools not who you are. Feelings are the result of a thought, and that thought creates a chemical cocktail and pours it in your body for you to feel the thought that you just exposed yourself too. If you say to yourself, “That makes mad,” your body complies and says “Okay one mad coming up,” You drink the cocktail and you feel the mad moving through your body. It is simply a biological process not who you are. You are not an angry, depressing or fearful thought. You are much more than that.

Feelings are like a flavor or spice. You get to choose how you feel or what spice you get to use in your life. Self-command, which is part of the science of results oriented thinking, teaches you how to command the spices or flavors in your life. You learn to co-create not let life just happen to you.

Because thoughts are tools that create experiences in your life, the science of results oriented thinking shows you have to have empowering thoughts that create an empowering you. The confusion happens when you believe you are the thought you are having. You are not the depressed person, the angry person nor are you the successful person or happy person. You are simply either using a thought as a tool and it delivers the experience you tell it to bring you.

Moving beyond talking and observing what it is that you are telling yourself in each moment has evidence of what chemical cocktail you are pouring into your systems. Observe what thought habits you have. In the science of results oriented thinking you will learn the 6 deadliest, yet widely accepted thinking and speaking habits that are plaguing personal success. In this science you will learn how to overcome these 6 killer habits and move into success habits that will produce the life you want.

Being willing to look at how you may harm your success outcome is one of the most important things you can do in your life. It is important to know because if you don’t understand how the science of results oriented thinking operates you will be doing the same thing your doing right now for the rest of your life never being able to change your circumstances.  Don’t wait take action now.

Have you thought of a career in Behavioral sciences? If not, then I would suggest you to seriously think about it. A career in Behavioral Science is not only rewarding but also challenging and intimidating. Moreover, Behavioral science encompasses number of disciplines and fields and you can choose the “right one” according to your interests and ability. Every behavioral scientist requires some skills to succeed and grow in this field. This article discusses some of the key skills to be possessed by any behavioral scientist. First of all, Behavioral scientists examine how people and groups grow and change over time. Therefore, they learn to develop theories that adapt to shifts in culture and environment along with their subjects.Ethology: A zoological science, ethologists study animal behavior, specifically instinctual rather than learned behavior. Ethology, as a part of behavioral science, instead looks at instinctual behavior in humans.FBI Behavioral Science Unit: You can work for the FBI with a degree in this field. It typically does involve criminal profiling, made popular by TV and films, but it also has several other components, including studying the behavior of criminals in general and even working to better the operational effectiveness of the FBI itself.Salaries can vary throughout the different disciplines of behavioral sciences. For sociologist it can be somewhere around $61,140. For anthropologist, it ranges between $53,080. Whereas for a clinical psychologist, the salary is $62,210 and for health educator it is $42,920.With so many career options, a career in behavioral sciences is certainly rewarding!

These days there is there is a lot buzz about the world going green and preserving the environment. Well, I think that all of you might be reading something or the other about “environment and ecology” in newspaper, magazines or over the internet. So, let me throw light on this topic. What is Environmental Science?Environmental science is an expression encompassing the wide range of scientific disciplines that need to be brought together to understand and manage the natural environment and the many interactions among physical, chemical, and biological components.Individuals may operate as Environmental scientists or a group of scientists may work together pooling their individual skills. The most common model for the delivery of Environmental science is through the work of an individual scientist or small team drawing on the peer-reviewed, published work of many other scientists throughout the world. What is the function of Environmental Science? The role of environmental science is to describe the hazards related to environment, interpret the impact of human actions on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, and to develop strategies for restoring ecosystems. In addition, environmental scientists help planners develop and construct buildings, transportation corridors, and utilities that protect water resources and reflect efficient and beneficial land use.Environmental chemistry is the study of chemical alterations in the environment. Principal areas of study include soil contamination and water pollution. The topics of analysis involve chemical degradation in the environment, multi-phase transport of chemicals (for example, evaporation of a solvent containing lake to yield solvent as an air pollutant), and chemical effects upon biota.Due to the interdisciplinary nature of environmental science, teams of professionals commonly work together to conduct environmental research or to produce Environmental Impact Statements. Environmental science encompasses issues such as climate change, conservation, biodiversity, water quality, groundwater contamination, soil contamination, and use of natural resources, waste management, sustainable development, disaster reduction, air pollution, and noise pollution.Environmental science has been studied, evaluated and researched for many years. This has been driven by the need for a large multi-disciplined team to analyze complex environmental problems, the arrival of substantive environmental laws requiring specific environmental protocols of investigation, and growing public awareness of a need for action in addressing environmental problems.

All of us must have heard about the word “Forensic Science or Forensics” every now and then. You must have read excerpts, articles and technologies related to forensic science-its benefits, disadvantages and scope. Let me give you a better description about this new branch of science. What is Forensic science?Forensic science (often shortened to forensics) is the application of a broad spectrum of sciences to answer questions of interest to the legal system. This may be in relation to a crime or to a civil action. But more specifically, the term “forensics”, encompasses the accepted norms and methods under which, the facts regarding an event, or an artifact, exists in determining whether an object is in fact what it purports to be, or is alleged as being.Forensic Anthropology is the application of the science of physical anthropology and human osteology (the study of the human skeleton) in a legal setting, most often in criminal cases where the victim’s remains are more or less skeletonized.Forensic Pathology is a branch of Pathology concerned with determining the cause of death by examination of a cadaver. The autopsy is performed by the pathologist at the request of a coroner usually during the investigation of criminal law cases and civil law cases in some jurisdictions.Forensic science has been extensively used to solve murder, criminal and other cases in which no direct clue or evidence could not be obtained. Forensic Science has definitely made criminal investigations and other legal disputes easy and quick to solve. Thanks to its’ pioneers!

Who said Science fair projects are boring and a chore? With a little bit of imagination you can come up with a winning science fair topic that will not only be interesting but one that you will enjoy doing.
Yes, a middle school science fair project can be a really exciting time for all middle school children. Having fun working on a science fair project while learning different aspects of scientific spectrum is a great and fun way to teach all children and students that the sciences are, contrary to popular belief not a boring chore but can be a lot of fun, which is something far too many schools seem to neglect telling pupils these days.
Below is a fun and interesting middle school science fair project. This example is intended to give you an idea on how to help your child with his or her science fair project. The example is merely a blue print which can easily be built upon.
Four Eyes? Oh Please!
Everyone knows someone who wears glasses. All you need for this science project is a friend or two who wear glasses. Then before the fair, a poster board could be made with a picture of the eye, the different parts (Retina, cornea, etc) labeled, and a brief description on how we see things.
Take a pair of your friend’s glasses and hold them at arms length, does what you’re looking at look smaller? Or does it look Larger? If the view looks smaller, it means your friend is nearsighted also referred to as short sighted. They can see things that are close to them, but may not be able to see things that are far away, this would be a likely indication that their eyeballs may be too long. On the other hand if the view that they see is big, or even upside down, then they are farsighted also known as long sighted. In other words they can see things that are far away, but not when things are closer up to them, the probable of this is that their eye ball is too short.
Advice to Parents.
Have your child to do some research on the eye itself, for example they could find out why it is that some people need glasses? And in what way do glasses help? The local library should have plenty of information geared up for middle school students that would help.
Let Them Create Their Own Ideas.
Of course, you could read dozens of different science fair projects, but none would be as fun or as personal as you and your child working together to come up with some ideas, you may even be surprised at the ideas that your child can come up with. When thinking of ideas you could take into consideration his or her likes and dislikes, and imagine how such a project could be fun and exciting, as well as educational.
I’m sure that when you and your child sit down and really think about it, the two of you could come up with a topic that blows everything else out of the water.
Remember that this is your child’s science fair project, not yours, and he or she needs to complete it. Not you, so left him or her take the lead.
